New Age Happy Discus

It started as a hobby when a friend gave me two discus in 1989. Convinced by its beauty, my collection started to grow to more than 150 tankfuls of discus. I took over an
aquarium to put my fishes, Happy Discus was started in 2003 in Holland Drive as a area or my discus.

Happy Discus was started as a haven for discus and a place where hobbyists would gather and exchange knowledge, a place where discus are cared and loved for.

As my collection started growing, friends and passerbys were requesting for my discus. I began selling them and on that basis, Happy Discus made my dream of
owning an aquarium became a reality.

 

About Our Operations

On this page, I would like to share with everyone how we operate our discus aquarium & discus farm. Hmmm . . . . how should I start? Ok, here it goes . . . . . Knowing the importance of selling beautiful and healthy discus to all our customers, we started to combine manufacturing process, documentation, collecting data, life science, chemical science and different well balance & nutrition diet for all my discus

 

(1) Manufacturing processing

As I, Solomon Chia, was in manufacturing for 19 years, I know I must have a good process for my discus production. So with more then 3 years of running and understanding an aquarium operation, I perfected a numbers of good yet simple process for us to maintain all our discus. With these process documented, all of us here just have to follow it accordingly to achieve whatever targets we wanted. Simple right? Yup, it’s just that simple. And these are the benefits that we achieved,

(a) Discus production output went up and
assured,

(b) Discus casualties rate went down to
almost zero (proven),

(c) Work load made much easier &

(d) Best of all, our discus are within our control and calculate able in term of growth rate, quantities produced, time spent / needed and usage of supporting items like anti-chlorine, water . . . . . . etc can be minimize. In these processes, we also practice preventive and corrective action at all time. We even begin to plot charts and do scheduling for our discus 2 years back. Well, it’s fun when I start to implement systems into discus keeping and discus breeding. With all discus data collected, they are really a great use for our discus hatchery.

 

(2) Life science & chemical science

To produce & maintain many healthy discus, I widen my knowledge in life and chemical science and ended setting up a mini-lab to produce a full range of effective medications for us & all discus hobbyists.

 

(3) Well balance & nutrition diet
for all my discus

Yes, from young, our discus are given the best quality brine shrimp & many types of nutritious herbs, vitamins and supplements added into the beef heart that we feed them. And yes, we also documented & collected data on the food we feed our discus. We have selected a few types of herbs, vitamin & supplement to add into the beef heart with no banned components that gives us the best result after feeding to our discus. They become healthier, stronger and most important is they always will achieve
a very beautiful body shape. Due to constant results, we continue giving our discus the best nutritious diet at all time, we even came out with different specially formulated blend to add into the beef heart that we feed our discus during different month of the year. Isn’t it great! Yes, we are very serious in choosing what kind of food we feed our discus.
Another great thing that I have achieved is formulated a SUPER discus food. It’s HX5 blended beef heart. It’s not just amazing for discus, HX5 blend actually does WONDERS! Yup, WONDERS! Just by feeding my discus 8 to 15 days ( 4 to 5 times daily), my discus can grow maximum of more than ONE inch. Yup, ONE inch in just 8 to 15 days. You didn’t read wrongly nor did I typed wrongly. But it’s not 16 to 30 days discus will grow two inches. It will be way beyond mother nature. How & when I uses my HX5 blended beef heart to feed my discus? Example 1 : When I have a customer that wants 100pcs of 3 inches Blue Diamond and if my stocks are just 2 inches in size, I feed my 2 inches Blue Diamond discus HX5 blended beef heart. 10 days later, I delivered. Example 2 : Every times
before I have a sale in Singapore, I feed all my discus on sale with HX5 blended beef heart for 10 to 15 days, Not only they grew more than 1 inch, they will definitely
ends up having a beautiful great majestic body shape. They are stronger, healthier & livelier. Customers that bought them home always come back for more.
